help across locations
(i) The health outreach initiatives in Jamnagar
during FY 2022-23 reached 1,78,000+ people
through mobile medical units, community
medical centre, specialised eye care services and
through 50 health camps that were conducted.
Over 18,500 patients were screened for
non-communicable diseases through
‘Laboratories on Bikes’. In addition to this, more
than 500 cataract surgeries were supported
under Project Drishti, and 340 nutrition kits
were distributed to children affected with HIV.
These camps were conducted on important
health days with an aim to detect health
conditions and impart awareness to prevent
these conditions. On World No-Tobacco Day,
oral cancer screening was conducted, and on
World Heart Day, a heart health camp and
diabetes screening camp for the elderly was also
organised. The programme also contributed to
promoting awareness about menstrual hygiene
on World Menstrual Hygiene Day.
Some of the other noteworthy initiatives include
Antenatal clinic, Anaemia control programme,
Vector borne diseases control programme,
School health check-up programme, awareness
session on World Menstrual Hygiene Day.
(ii) During FY 2022-23, Reliance Foundation
undertook several activities to strengthen
healthcare capacity in Jhajjar. A key focus was
providing access to healthcare for
underprivileged individuals in the region.
Through Reliance Foundation Mobile Medical
Units and Health camps, over 32,000 individuals
from 18 villages in Jhajjar district received
much-needed health consultations.
Additionally, 764 spectacles/eyeglasses were
distributed to individuals, enhancing their vision
and quality of life. Furthermore, the Foundation
facilitated cataract surgeries for ten patients at
the District Hospital, ensuring improved eye
health and visual outcomes for those in need.
These initiatives demonstrate Reliance
Foundation's commitment to building healthcare
capacity and positively impacting the well-being
of the community in Jhajjar

(iii) Helping upgrade the healthcare facilities at
New Civil Hospital and SMIMER at Hazira
Reliance Foundation, along with the Surat
District Administration, worked in two areas of
health infrastructure:
1) Existing neo-natal beds were not sufficient
for the treatment of new born children in
both these hospitals – Reliance Foundation
provided 28 NICU beds to the Paediatric
ward of both hospitals
2) An ultrasound machine for women’s health
was needed in the Radiology
(v) In order to enhance healthcare capacity, the
Department – One machine has been
provided to the New Civil Hospital
(iv) Over 1,00,000+ consultations for
primary and preventative healthcare were
provided in around 150 villages of Shahdol
district in Madhya Pradesh. Under the
Malnutrition Control Programme, more than
9,100 women and children were screened for
anaemia and malnutrition.

More than 500 adolescent girl students studying
in residential schools have undergone regular
health check-ups. These girls have also been
educated on the need for nutrition and hygiene.
Girls identified as anaemic condition have been
provided with the required health supplements.
Over 2,500 people from 150 villages benefitted
from the health check-up camps held
for Eye Care, Orthopaedics, Gastrointestinal
issues, Dental issues etc. Reliance Foundation
partnered with the District Health Department
for conduct these multi-speciality health camps.
following health initiatives were rolled out in the
past year in Nagothane by Reliance Foundation:
• Mobile Medical Van service was fully
operational in ten villages in Nagothane
and more than 4,500 (5,000) individuals
were screened in FY 2022-23. The objective
of this initiative is to improve the health of
the community by giving them access to
primary health care in their own village.
